What corporate accounting covers and who needs it
Corporate accounting is the day-to-day recording and monthly closing of a business's books. It covers sales and purchase entries, expense booking, bank and cash reconciliation, debtor and creditor ledgers, stock records where needed, payroll entries, and accruals for month-end closing.
Companies and LLPs must keep proper books of account under company and LLP law, and businesses above the income tax thresholds must maintain specified books and may need a tax audit. Owner-managed businesses that have outgrown a part-time accountant also benefit, as do growing firms that need dependable numbers for bank limits, investors, or simply to know which products and customers make money.
How our bookkeeping process works
We start by reviewing your current books, chart of accounts and document flow, then agree a monthly calendar. Bills, invoices, bank statements and payroll data are shared through a cloud folder or email, and entries are made in Tally Prime or the software you already use.
At each month-end we reconcile bank accounts, match purchases with GSTR-2B, check TDS deducted against the books, review debtor and creditor balances, and post accruals and depreciation. You receive a trial balance, a profit and loss statement, a balance sheet, ageing reports and a short note of open issues. Queries are raised through one point of contact so your team is not chased by several people.
Bookkeeping for Surat's trading and manufacturing businesses
Surat businesses often have accounting needs that generic bookkeeping misses. Textile traders deal with agent commissions, long credit periods, goods returns, and rate differences that need credit and debit notes. Weaving, processing and embroidery units have to track job-work inputs and outputs, power costs and machine-wise production. Diamond businesses need careful records of rough and polished stock, job-work and export proceeds.
For these businesses, the ledger structure, stock valuation method and treatment of cash discounts and brokerage directly affect GST returns, income tax and bank stock statements. We set up your books around how your business actually runs, so the numbers given to your banker, auditor and GST portal agree.

Accounting and Bookkeeping in Surat: FAQs
Can you maintain my books in Tally if my data stays on my office computer?
Yes. We can work through secure remote access to your system, or move the data to a Tally setup hosted on a server that both your team and ours can use. Some clients prefer to share documents and receive an updated data backup each month. We agree on one method at the start so there is a single, current version of the books.
How often will I receive financial reports?
Most clients receive a monthly pack within an agreed number of days after month-end. It includes a profit and loss statement, a balance sheet, bank reconciliation status, debtor and creditor ageing and a summary of open issues. Smaller businesses sometimes choose quarterly closing. The frequency is set in the engagement letter based on volume and how you use the numbers.
Is outsourced bookkeeping suitable for a small Surat trading firm?
Yes, often more so than for larger firms. A small trader usually cannot justify a full-time qualified accountant, but still needs accurate GST data, reconciled bank accounts and books that stand up to income tax or bank scrutiny. Outsourcing gives you a reviewed process at a predictable monthly cost, and the scope can grow with the business.
Will you also prepare my annual financial statements?
Yes. At year-end we finalise the books, pass closing entries, prepare the trial balance and draft the financial statements in the required format, such as Schedule III for companies. We then coordinate with your statutory or tax auditor, providing schedules, reconciliations and explanations so the audit goes faster. Where the firm is engaged for the audit, independence requirements are followed.
