Key monthly due dates
Most businesses work to a monthly rhythm. TDS and TCS for the previous month are deposited by the 7th, GSTR-1 is filed by the 11th, PF and ESI contributions are paid by the 15th, and GSTR-3B is filed by the 20th. Businesses under the QRMP scheme file quarterly returns but pay tax monthly by the 25th using PMT-06.
Annual deadlines to plan for
Income tax returns are due on 31 July for individuals without business income, 31 August for business or professional income without audit, and 31 October for audit cases and companies. The tax audit report is due by 30 September. Companies hold their AGM by 30 September and then file AOC-4 and MGT-7 within 30 and 60 days. LLPs file Form 11 by 30 May and Form 8 by 30 October, and the GST annual return is due by 31 December.
Frequently asked questions
What if a due date falls on a weekend or holiday?
Do not assume the date moves. Extensions are announced by notification, so file early or check the official portal when a deadline falls on a holiday.
Are these dates the same in every state?
Most are national. The main exception is the quarterly GSTR-3B under the QRMP scheme, which is due on the 22nd in Category I states such as Gujarat and Maharashtra and on the 24th in Category II states such as Delhi. Professional tax dates also vary by state.
Can Finaccle track these deadlines for us?
Yes. Our compliance team tracks deadlines for each entity we look after and files returns ahead of the due date, with review by a Chartered Accountant.
